Panel 1A: Health Care
Precision Medicine, is it a result or a trend? Precision Medicine is a new medical concept and model, which applies individual differences of genetic, environmental and lifestyle information to disease prevention and treatment. President Obama announced "Precision Medicine Initiative" in his State of the Union Address in January 2015, which promote the development of precision medicine mainly from five aspects: Launch a "voluntary million-person cohort”; Find genetic factors that cause cancer; Establish new assessment method of genetic testing; Develop a series of related standards and policies; Forge strong partnership with public and private sectors (Public-Private-Partnership). The development of precision medicine will set off a revolution in the global healthcare industry, along with the emergence of a lot of innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities, while facing the challenges as for establishment of disease prevention system, management and sharing of data, developing legal norms, and many other. This year, MIT-CHIEF hosts a healthcare panel with outstanding industry leaders in various fields and jointly explore this topic in depth.Belen Carrillo-RivasHead, Pfizer View intro » |

Panel 1B: New Material & Energy
Leaner, faster, greener – new materials are critical components of emerging technologies that promise to be major growth areas for the economy, such as less expensive solar power, electric-car batteries that can go longer between charges, lightweight portable electronic devices, and implantable medical devices for personalized medicine. However, investment in new materials and clean tech is in general capital intensive. What are the best practices, for startups and also for investors? Can clean tech actually be lean? How to leverage global resources to navigate through the valley of death, which is usually deeper and wider for material or energy industry? What is the role of China in this game?Qichao HuCEO, SolidEnergy Systems View intro » |

Panel 3A: Financial technology (FinTech)
Financial Technology (FinTech) companies are easing payment processes, reducing fraud, saving customers' money, promoting financial planning, and ultimately moving industries forward. The diversified choices of services provided by these new FinTech companies have taken a sizable market share out of traditional banks by personalized services. Examples include online currencies, p2p lending, mobile wallets, investment planning and banking that connects to social networking platforms. Successful FinTech ventures work when they increase customer access to information, improve the customer experience, and lower transaction fees, through swift reflexes that large banks are incapable of.
